Week 3 - Chopped

So, here we are on Week 3.  This isn't the original shot I had in mind, but the props I thought I'd have available to me today turned out not to be, so I put this together in just a few minutes (even more rushed than week 1).  I only managed to get 4 or 5 shots to try to frame this up just right (I wanted to avoid plug sockets and the wall behind the counter, wasn't a lot of room), but it's definitely something I want to go back to in the future and try again (along with a couple of other ideas for the "chopped" theme.

Shot with the Nikon D300s & Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 lens 1/250 @ f/5.6.  Lit from above right with an SB-900 shooting through a tri-grip diffuser.

You can read a bit more about this shot, and what I would do differently over on my photo blog.

Week 2 - Poems & Poetry

I hate to say it, but I'm having to pull a Joker already and skip week two.  I've been completely stumped on this one, and the couple of ideas I have come up with simply aren't doable due to time constraints.

Good luck everybody else with Week 2! :)

Week 1 - Curves

So the Talk Photography 2010 Photo52 has begun, and the first week's subject is "Curves". This isn't quite what I'd thought up in my head beforehand, and I was a little bit rushed trying to take this, so not quite as I'd like it to be.

Shot with the Nikon D300s & 50mm f/1.8D lens @ f/8. SB-900 in a 32" softbox directly overhead. I probably could've been a little more creative, but as I said, a bit rushed at the time. If I get a chance over the next couple of days, I think I'll probably shoot this again to see what else I can come up with.
